Autistic Girl Found Dead

Autism is a very real disease to thousands of parents and has become more present as the years pass on. Symptoms can vary from barely noticeable to almost debilitating. I know that autism became more real for me when people who I knew had children with the disease. Awareness has been pushed by many including Hollywood stars like Holly Robinson Peete who started a booming foundation for Autism Research because her son was diagnosed with autism.

The sometimes horrifying effects of having an Autistic child hit home for a Hampton Roads family last week. A Hampton family reported their daughter, Kaymania Serenity Catta, as missing on Wednesday night. The 5-year-old Autistic girl went missing from her home around 5:30 p.m. Kaymania was unable to speak or communicate due to her autism. The family was fairly new to their Hampton neighborhood and the girl was not familiar with her surroundings. The neighborhood had a total of three lakes that were searched by Virginia State and Hampton dive teams. At 7:45 a.m. on Thursday the divers found the body in one of the neighborhood lakes, about two blocks from where she lived.

This is a very devastating story and outcome for the family and those involved in the search. Harmful things can happen to the ones you love, and if they do, contact your local family law lawyer, Attorney Michael Weisberg. He services the Hampton Roads area and has decades of experience to best handle your case. Call today to set up a free consultation.
