Local Norfolk Child Attacked and Bitten By Rottweiler

The local news reported that a young girl in Norfolk, Virginia was attacked and bitten by a rottweiler dog on Saturday, April 9. The child suffered several bite wounds and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the young girl is expected to recover.

The Law Office of Michael S. Weisberg, P.C. would like to remind residents in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach areas to take special precautions to ensure that their dogs and other pets are adequately contained and restrained on their owner’s property. As the summer months approach, the number of children who play outdoors will increase. Checking to ensure that leashes and fences are in good repair is one simple way to reduce the chances of your pet becoming loose and potentially injuring another individual or child.

Thousands of individuals are injured in dog bite incidents each year. Many of these injuries are serious in nature and may require extensive medical treatment and rehabilitative therapy. If you have been attacked or injured by a dog, you may be able to recover for your injuries. The best course of action is to contact an experienced Virginia personal injury attorney who understands the dog bite laws in Virginia. Filing a lawsuit may not ease the physical pain that is associated with a dog attack, but it may ease the financial burden associated with your medical care and treatment.
