Man Arrested for Pizza Robberies Says He’s Innocent

Brandon Smith will be spending his birthday behind bars after he was arrested for robbing a Chesapeake, VA Papa John’s pizza delivery driver. There have been a spate of robberies involving pizza delivery people recently including the shooting of a Newport News pizza worker who is now in critical condition, reports WTKR TV.
This most recent robbery occurred at around 8:30 p.m. Monday night, and the female pizza employee said she had been robbed while making a delivery in the 1100 block of Merchant’s Way.
When cops got to the scene, they saw two men they suspected of being the robbers run into a nearby home. After a search, they arrested Brandon Smith and his friend, Brian Faulcon. Smith, a volunteer high school basketball coach, says police have the wrong man and that he had nothing to do with the robbery. He says that he had just gotten out of a car and may have looked suspicious because he was wearing a hoodie.
If convicted of robbing the pizza delivery person, Smith could face between five years and life in prison for the offense. So it’s critical for Smith to hire an experienced criminal defense attorney.
All too often, police arrest the wrong guy or there is a mistaken identity that leads to serious penalties. If you have been wrongly accused of a crime or are otherwise involved in a criminal matter, you will want experienced Norfolk criminal defense lawyer Michael Weisberg to represent your interests and help ensure you do not do the time for a crime you did not commit.
