The
Law Office of Michael S. Weisberg P.C. would like to remind drivers to use additional care and caution while driving their vehicles on Virginia’s roads and highways. Jut this past weekend alone, there were at least five vehicle-related deaths and two critical injuries that were reported by local authorities.
On Saturday evening, a vehicle containing four passengers was traveling down I-64 in Norfolk at a high rate of speed. According to
reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it veered off of the highway and crashed into the ditch. Three of the four passengers were killed in the crash. The fourth passenger is listed in critical condition. None of the passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
On Sunday a driver from North Carolina who was traveling through Virginia Beach was killed when his SUV veered off the road and flipped over. The man was ejected from his vehicle during the crash. According to
reports, the man was also not wearing a safety belt at the time of the accident.
Also, this weekend a Hampton Roads woman was struck and killed while crossing the street. According to
reports, the woman was crossing Todds Lane at Carr Lane when she was struck. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. The woman was taken to the hospital with critical injuries and pronounced dead a few hours after she arrived. Many accidents, deaths and critical injuries could be avoided if drivers slowed down, wore their safety belts and payed attention to the road.
