Personal Injury Claim For $20 Million Filed In Virginia Against the Makers of Botox

A federal jury will begin hearing testimony this week for a personal injury lawsuit that was filed against, Allergan, Inc., a company most commonly known for manufacturing and distributing the wrinkle smoothing drug, Botox. According to reports, Douglas Ray, Jr., a man from Fredricksburg, Virginia, filed a lawsuit after receiving Botox injections in his right hand.

The Botox injections were allegedly intended to treat and relieve symptoms related to a hand-cramping condition, commonly referred to as “writer’s cramp”. Mr. Ray suffered from a brain injury shortly after receiving the injections in his hand, which he believes were caused from the Botox. The cornerstone of Mr. Ray’s personal injury claim is that Allergan promoted the use of Botox for treatments that were not approved by the FDA, including writer’s cramp.

Mr. Ray is now totally disabled and fully dependant on others to provide him with life sustaining care. He is seeking $20 million from Allergan, Inc. as compensation for his injury. If you have been injured during a medical procedure or suffered adverse consequences from a medication or treatment that was prescribed to you or administered by a medical professional, a Virginia personal injury attorney or medical malpractice lawyer may be able to help you secure compensation for your injuries and medical bills.
