Shaken by the Unexpected?

Local Hampton Roads civilians were shocked by the 5.8-6.0 magnitude earthquake that shook much of the eastern seaboard. The earthquake centered in Mineral, Virginia which is located in central Virginia. However, the quake could be felt as far as Iowa and New York City, affecting as many as 12 million people. While no deaths were reported, the Pentagon and White House were evacuated. Control towers at J.F.K. International Airport in NYC and Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey were evacuated while authorities inspected the towers and runways delaying many flights. The last earthquake to affect Virginia occurred in 1897 in Giles County with a magnitude of 5.9.

As the last earthquake experienced by Virginians was over a hundred years ago, yesterday's earthquake came as a total shock. While no one was hurt and no important damage was reported, the earthquake startled everyone. In life, many forget to expect the unexpected such as an earthquake, divorce, devastating automobile accident, or unexpected outcome from a surgical procedure. All of these and more can happen to anyone at anytime. In times like these, you need a dependable lawyer who can help you through when the unexpected becomes the present. Hampton Roads Attorney Michael Weisberg has been helping clients through situations like the ones noted above (and many more) for multiple years.
