The fallout from a DUI conviction

If you are convicted of driving under the influence, you could be in for a surprise.  There are a number of consequences to a DUI that you might not be expecting.  Consider what can happen if you are found guilty of drunk driving:

  • Jail time
  • Community service
  • Loss of your license
  • Required use of an ignition interlock device
  • Required attendance at a driving school
  • Time away from work to go to court
  • Your name in the paper
  • Fines
  • Loss of your job
  • Difficulty finding a new job

It is important that you understand how serious a DUI conviction can be.  Before you find yourself facing these serious consequences, talk to an attorney with proven experience defending people against DUI convictions.

With the right attorney, you might be able to get the charges against you thrown out or reduced to something less serious.  A good attorney will make sure that your rights are protected and that you are not treated unfairly because of your situation.
