Tractor Trailer Crash Knocked Out Power To Thousands In Norfolk

Tractor-trailer accidents are relatively common in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach areas. Unfortunately, truck accidents tend to cause substantially more damage to other vehicles and property due to their size and weight. A tractor-trailer accident that occurred earlier this week demonstrated the destructive power of these vehicles when it knocked out power to thousands of residents and blocked traffic for hours.

According to reports, the tractor-trailer was heading south on Hampton Boulevard in Norfolk when it collided with a utility pole and overturned.  A crossing guard who was working near the accident scene reported that he had to run out of the truck’s way to avoid being stuck. The fact that the crossing guard’s stop sign ended up underneath the overturned truck demonstrates how close of a call this was.

Fortunately, no one was physically injured in the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer was allegedly able to walk away from the scene of the accident. Local police are still investigating the cause of the accident. If you have been injured in a tractor-trailer or automobile accident in Virginia, a Norfolk personal injury attorney may be able to help you recover for your injuries.
