Virginia Beach Bicylist hit by Car | auto accident

Driver Charged after She Hit a Bicyclist

It would be nice to be able to spray the newspapers with happiness and cheer in every news article, but that would just be too fantastical. It would be a dream come true though. Back to reality, an automobile driver hit a bicyclist in Virginia Beach. This car accident resulted in a 20-year-old treated by medics at the scene and then transported to Sentara Bayside Hospital.

A Close Call

The car accident occurred when the driver was turning right at the intersection of Pembroke and Independence boulevards. It was not even lunchtime yet, around 10 a.m. in the morning. The cyclist had lower leg injuries.  It was not a terrible car accident, his injuries were not severe, but it was a close call nonetheless.

Fault

This type of accident is not always the driver’s fault but in this case, the driver was at fault.  The cyclist had the right of way.  A police officer issued a ticket to the driver for failure to yield the right of way.

Justice will be Served

The cyclist should consider calling an attorney.   People involved in automobile/bike accidents who receive substantial injuries usually need to be represented by an attorney who will insure they will be compensated for their hospital bills, loss of time from work, interruption in their daily activities and pain and suffering.
