Can I recover for personal injuries that I received as a result of a dog bite?

 

A: In some cases you may be able to recover for dog or animal bite injuries. Generally, the law does not punish dog owners who have no prior knowledge that their dog has vicious propensities. However, if the dog’s owner had reason to know that the animal would bite or failed to keep the animal contained on his or her property, then he may be liable to you for your injuries.
