Do doctors have a duty to tell the patients of every possible risk associated with a medical procedure?

A: All doctors have the responsibility to tell their patients about the risks of treatment. It is essential that a doctor’s duty also includes discussing the alternative to the procedure as well. The standard is set by what other doctors of the same specialty would reasonably inform about the treatment. Contact us if you need assistance in determining whether your treatment was at the standard of care.
