Q: If I am guilty of the charge, shouldn't I plead guilty and pay the fine?
A: Probably not; since traffic charges are criminal in nature, they must be proven in accordance with a strict statutory interpretation. Many times there are missing elements of proof that can be helpful to our office in obtaining a conviction upon a less serious charge (such as non-moving violation) or even a dismissal.
