My spouse has a lawyer, but I do not. Should I sign a property settlement agreement that was drafted by my spouse's lawyer?

 

A: Your spouse’s attorney has no duty to protect your legal interests. If you sign a property settlement agreement without having it reviewed by your own attorney, you could be accepting a binding settlement agreement that is not in your best interests.
