What should you do if you are involved in a "hit and run" accident?

 

A: If you are the victim of a hit and run accident, you should call 911 immediately. Do your best to remember the make, model and color of the vehicle. Also, try to recall what the driver of the vehicle looked like. For example, was it a man or a woman? Did they have light or dark hair? If you are able to record the license plate number of the vehicle or remember several of the numbers, that will also help the police identify the perpetrator. If you are injured in the accident, seek medical attention immediately. File a formal police report as soon as possible.
