Will I need to do anything after my personal injury claim or lawsuit is filed?

A: After a lawsuit is filed, you may be required to participate in "discovery."  Discovery is a legal tool that is used by all parties in a personal injury lawsuit to discover additional information about the accident.  You may be required to see the insurance company's doctor and provide documents such as bills and medical records that are related to your injury.  You may also be required to sit for a deposition where an attorney for the opposing party will ask you questions related to the case.  Your attorney will guide you through this process and be present at your deposition to answer any questions that you have related to the discovery process.
