Why are passenger vans in Virginia so prone to accidents?

• If cargo or passengers are not loaded in a balanced way, the risk of passenger vans rollover goes up.
• Passenger van occupants often don’t wear seatbelts, which means they are more likely to be thrown around in a crash. If a van occupant is thrown from the van during an accident, the likelihood they’ll be killed or seriously injured rises dramatically.

Passenger vans need to be driven with care by mature, experienced drivers. They must also be properly maintained in order to be safe. Parents and caregivers, note that passenger vans should never be used as a school bus – they are just too unsafe.
