51-Year-Old Man Dies in Fatal Crash at Virginia Beach Intersection

A fatal motor vehicle accident in Virginia Beach on Saturday, October 29th, 2011, claimed the life of 51-year-old Qi Hua Wong, who lived in the 1900 block of Evar Place in Virginia Beach. According to police, Wong, who was driving a 2010 Toyota Sienna minivan heading north on Corporate Landing Parkway at approximately 8:15 AM, ran a red light turning left onto Dam Neck Road. At the same time, a 2004 Dodge Dakota pickup truck was heading east on Dam Neck Road and had a green light entering the intersection. The Dodge Dakota was unable to stop at the light and crashed into the Toyota Sienna. 

 

Wong was transported to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and died from his injuries the following day. Wong was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver of the Dodge Dakota received treatment for only minor injuries. 

 

According to police, neither alcohol nor speed was a factor in this fatal crash.
