The South Plaza and Rosemont Road intersection in Virginia Beach is known for being very busy. The driver was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian.
Busy roads and intersections like this one are dangerous for pedestrians and bike riders, who often go unnoticed by drivers who are either paying attention only to other vehicles or who are distracted by something in their car. Pedestrian accidents are usually very serious – for the pedestrian – because they have no protection against the force of a vehicle striking them unexpectedly.
