Ejected from Speeding Car, Female Driver Dies on I-64 in Norfolk

Posted on May 23, 2011

A female driver tragically died recently when she completely and inexplicably lost control of her luxury sedan and crashed on route I-64 in Norfolk, VA.

Sgt. Michelle Anaya of the Virginia State Police told the Daily Press, a Tidewater area newspaper, that Pamela Dawn Ferman was apparently not wearing a seat belt when she crashed. She was ejected from the vehicle when her 2011 Nissan Versa hit a guard rail and overturned.

Paramedics pronounced that 31-year-old Ferman, of Virginia Beach, was dead at the scene on I-64 eastbound close to Chesapeake Boulevard.

According to the report, Sgt. Anaya said the female driver was apparently zooming "at a high rate of speed" when she left the road and slammed into a jersey wall. She then smashed into a guard rail on the other side of the highway.
It remains unknown whether or not alcohol was a factor in this incident.
