A forklift accident at APM Terminals in Portsmouth, VA has claimed the life of a 38-year-old female worker, according to a report on WAVY-TV (Channel 10).
Police say that the employee, Paula Bellamy, of Portsmouth, was working as a "slinger," someone who guides a crane operator, when she was struck by a forklift. She died from her injuries.
According to the WAVY-TV report, the Portsmouth Police Department believes that the forklift operator's vision was obscured by containers when he hit the victim at Ceres Terminals Incorporated.
