Tidewater residents: watch out for these vehicle safety recalls

Calling all Tidewater residents: are you good about keeping up with the latest vehicle safety recalls from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)? Here are all the recalls since February 1, 2011:

2004-2005 Ford F-150 pickup trucks manufactured in Norfolk. Vehicle defect means airbag could deploy without warning, causing injury.
2009-2010 Ford F-150 pickup trucks are also being recalled because the door latch could fail in a crash, causing the door to open unexpectedly.
Variety of Suzuki motorcycles manufactured from 2008-2010. These motorcycles could experience engine stalling, which could lead to a wreck.
2004-2007 LEXUS / RX330, 2004-2007 LEXUS / RX350, 2004-2007 LEXUS / X400H, 2004-2006 TOYOTA / HIGHLANDER, and 2004-2006 TOYOTA / HIGHLANDER HYBRID – all recalled because the forward retention clip for the floor mats was not installed correctly, and could lead to the accelerator pedal becoming caught by the floor mat.
2006-2007 LEXUS / GS300 and 2006-2007 LEXUS / GS350 recalled because the accelerator pedal could become partially stuck, which could lead to a crash.
2008-2011 LEXUS / LX570, 2003-2009 TOYOTA / 4RUNNER, 2006-2010 TOYOTA / RAV4 all recalled because the accelerator pedal could become stuck wide open because of the floor mats, leading to an out of control speeding crash.
2009-2010 Honda Fit is being recalled because one of four engine springs could become detached, leading the engine to stall.
2009-2010 Cadillac CTS is being recalled because the rear suspension could become loose, causing drivers to lose control of their vehicle and crash.
2009-2011 Suzuki Grand Vitara and 2010-2011 Suzuki SX4 are recalled because the drive belt could become detached, contributing to a crash.
2011 Ford Explorers are being recalled because the second row seat backs may not remain upright in a crash, and could cause additional injury.
