Local police reported that the driver of the other car sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk.

According to Crawford's wife, Crawford seemingly lost consciousness before the crash. However, he wasn't wearing his seatbelt, and a physician told local media that he died from injuries sustained in the crash.
