On November 13th, 2011, a tragic Virginia Beach motorcycle accident took the life of Joshua William Wimberly, who was only 20 years old at the time and lived in the 3200 block of Dunnbury Court.
According to Virginia Beach Police Spokesperson Grazia Moyers, shortly after 3:00 PM on Sunday, Wimberly was traveling north on his motorcycle in the 1100 block of Lynnhaven Parkway, near the intersection of Holland Road. Wimberly’s motorcycle struck a blue Ford Expedition SUV in the left rear quarter panel when the SUV was turning right onto Lynnhaven Parkway from a parking lot. Sadly, Wimberly suffered head injuries and, according to medics, died at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and will be reviewed by the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for any possible charges, but alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this time.
